Thanksgiving-gratitude or appreciation

Thanksgiving is always a good reminder to sit back and reflect on what we are grateful for, family, friends, health, our jobs and of course our pets, just to name few things.

This year is no different, with Mercury in retrograde it’s almost a double whammy. It is a time to slow down and really appreciate what we have, but what we also have to look forward to, it’s a time to wrap up those old repeating relationships or patterns that no benefit you and a chance to lay the ground work for what you really want in the coming year. It’s a time to be grateful for all you have already achieved in this last year and a perfect time to appreciate all you about to receive!

Thanksgiving for me have always been about giving thanks for others who have shared my life, who have been there to lift me up when I need it and those who have stood strong beside me when I wasn’t able to do it myself. Those who have laughed with me and for those who make me laugh.

This year is different. This year I am choosing to appreciate. Don’t get me wrong, I thank the Universe for many things in my life every day, sometimes several times a day because I am grateful for what I have received and for those who are in my life, but I believe that the feeling of appreciation carries a higher vibration that is similar to the energy of unconditional love, where gratitude focuses on the past, appreciation focuses the energy in the present and the future.

So this year I am choosing to appreciate where I am right now and look forward to all my good that is coming.

I am grateful for my family and friends, but I appreciate that they love me and are in my life and looking forward to many more years together.

Even when things don’t always go the way I want, I do appreciate the opportunity to shift and change, either my perception or by my actions.

So on this day, take a moment and not just be grateful for that you have, but to really feel appreciation for all your blessings you are about to receive.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
